A general education core is required for all Associate and Bachelor degrees. All graduates must meet the general education requirements established by each academic program.

Baker’s Medical Insurance Specialist associate degree program is comprehensive, taught by experts who work in the field, and understand the complexities of health insurance.

Your curriculum includes everything you need to know—rules and policies that affect billing and payment, health insurance codes and procedures, claims processing and follow-up, best practices for optimizing reimbursement, and much more—as well as an externship, which gives you an the opportunity to apply your knowledge and skills in a real-world setting.

This course will concentrate on clinical abstracting from the medical record. A grade of B- or better must be maintained to satisfactorily complete this course.
