Good financial sense can take you far in life. With so many unique financial challenges individuals, companies, and organizations are dealing with, the world needs people to help make sense of it all. It’s no wonder financial professionals are in very high demand and will be in demand for years to come.
Our 4+1 Finance BBA/MBA program provides an accelerated path in finance and is designed to help you understand financial theory, improve your math and analytical skills and apply those skills in many different ways, including to banking, corporate finance and financial planning.
Corporations, pension funds, insurance companies, and other organizations and individuals who make investment decisions rely on financial analysts to provide information and guidance. By applying their analytical and decision-making skills, they assess stock and bond performance, study trends, and develop portfolio strategies and recommendations to meet financial goals.
The Baker College Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance program is a 5-year, IACBE-accredited program consisting of 141 credit hours (36 hours of major courses and 30 hours of general education courses). Our curriculum includes 54 hours of business requirements, including business analytics, personal financial planning and two 120-hour work experiences in the field.
I chose Baker for the curriculum. They look at what you’re going to need, and a lot of MBAs are general. ...I felt that a lot of the things that I was doing in school, I could directly translate into what I was doing in the hospital.
This 4+1 program provides an exciting pathway for you to gain a BBA finance degree and an MBA degree in five years. Once admitted, you will be allowed to take up to 15 MBA credit hours in your junior and senior years to fulfill the Business Elective courses requirements. The MBA credit hours will apply toward both the BBA finance degree and MBA requirements.
Assuming a student will choose the MBA Finance Major upon completing a BBA Finance degree, he/she will need to complete additional courses to receive an MBA degree. Students will have the option of choosing another major upon admission into the MBA Program. If so, the academic plan will change accordingly.
Please contact the Enrollment Department for admission criteria and submit applications to the Center for Graduate Studies upon completion of 60 credits toward your BBA finance degree. A minimum 3.0 GPA is required.
Our quality-focused, market-driven and rigorous program curricula will establish and enhance core business knowledge and the ability to anticipate and react to societal changes, as well as provide students with technological proficiency, the ability to make ethical decisions, and the communication skills that embody the professional acumen graduates need to make positive contributions to their chosen fields.
