Looking for an education that can open the door to a wide range of job opportunities? With a certificate in diesel service technology from ADI, you’ll be qualified to work on a vehicle’s electrical system, make engine repairs, or perform routine maintenance on some of the biggest vehicles on the road. Our Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) master certified technicians/instructors will prepare you to take five ASE certification exams and help you become an ASE Medium/Heavy Truck Certified Technician
- Learn diesel engine theory, engine diagnostics, transmissions, brakes, preventive
maintenance, and more. - Train in a state-of-the-art, 43,000-square-foot facility outfitted with the same tools and
equipment that professionals use on the job. - Get hands-on instruction from experienced ASE-certified professionals in small classes
that allow you the attention you deserve.

Qualified diesel service technicians are some of the most sought-after professionals in their industry. These in-demand experts are responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing buses, trucks, and other medium/heavy-duty vehicles. Their work is varied; they may work on a vehicle’s electrical system, make engine repairs, or do routine maintenance. Continuing advances in medium/heavy-duty truck technologies have made it essential to have up-to-date training and skills. Our diesel service technology certificate program will prepare you to take the following ASE certification exams:
- T2 - Diesel Engines
- T3 - Drive Train
- T4 - Brakes
- T5 - Suspension and Steering
- T6 - Electrical / Electronic Systems
- T8 - Preventive Maintenance and Inspection (PMI)
Curriculum
ADI’s diesel service technology certificate program is a two-semester program consisting of 32 credit hours. Our curriculum includes diesel electrical/electronic systems, diesel engine repair, and heavy duty brake service.

Additional requirements
For courses that include a consecutive course, Electrical/Electronic Systems 1, students must pass with the grade of C or better in order to continue toward earning a certificate.

The Diesel Service Technology certificate program is accredited by the ASE Education Foundation, 1503 Edwards Ferry Road NE, Suite 401, Leesburg, VA 20176.
