AAS in Health Information Technology Program Outcomes
The mission of the health information technology program is to provide students with the opportunity to build on knowledge and develop the skills necessary to be employed as a health information management (HIM) professional.
Program Performance
Definitions
- Academic Year: The period between July 1st and June 30th
- Certification Exam Pass Rate: Percentage of test-takers who successfully passed the Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) exam.
- Graduation Rate: The percentage of students who completed the program during the academic year.
- Knowledge Rate: Percentage of graduates who completed the First Destination Survey (FDS) by December 31st indicating their employment status
- Employment Rate: The percentage of graduates who completed the First Destination Survey indicating that they are employed full time or part time.
- First Destination Survey: The First-Destination Survey captures information regarding how new college graduates fare in their careers following graduation. The annual initiative provides clear, concise, and consistent data on the outcomes associated with their degree completion. Outcomes include 1) types of employment—full or part time, contract, freelance, and so forth; 2) additional education, e.g., accepted to graduate or professional school; 3) still seeking either employment or further education; 4) and starting salary for those employed full time.
- Retention Rate: Percentage of students who continue at the same institution the following year.
