Royal Oak, MI – Baker College’s Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) students continue to outperform national averages on the Peregrine Exams, a standardized measure of student learning outcomes in business education. With results steadily improving year over year, the College of Business once again demonstrates its commitment to delivering high-quality education that prepares students for success in the ever-evolving world of business. These results are part of an intentional, strategic effort by Baker College to transform our academic programs and produce highly skilled graduates who are ready to lead in the real world.

“We are incredibly proud of our students for consistently exceeding national benchmarks and making steady improvement on the Peregrine exams. We are very glad to see that our students are not only mastering theoretical concepts but also developing the practical skills required to tackle real-world business challenges, said Dr. La Ni, Dean of Graduate Programs. “The results also highlight the effectiveness of our teaching methods, faculty expertise, and academic resources that prepare students to face the complexities of the business environment with confidence and competence.”

The Peregrine Exams, recommended by the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE), have been used at Baker College since spring 2018 as a tool to benchmark student performance across a range of core business competencies. All BBA and MBA students complete the exam as part of their capstone courses.

Recent results speak volumes:

BBA Students:
• 2022–2023: 62.10% (Nat’l Avg: 60.80%)
• 2023–2024: 65.07% (Nat’l Avg: 62.34%)
• 2024–2025: 71.0%* (Nat’l Avg: 62.30%)
MBA Students:
• 2022–2023: 67.40% (Nat’l Avg: 62.60%)
• 2023–2024: 66.81% (Nat’l Avg: 64.07%)
• 2024–2025: 71.5%* (Nat’l Avg: 64.10%)

“These results really shout that our business programs are not just meeting but exceeding national benchmarks in core business competencies. These scores show that our students aren’t just absorbing concepts, they’re able to apply them at a high level. In the business world, being able to think critically, analyze complex situations, and make informed decisions is essential. We are building a strong foundation of skills and knowledge that stands up against any other program out there,” said LaTasha Ellis, Dean of Undergraduate Programs.

The Peregrine Exams cover key business disciplines including Accounting, Business Communication, Ethics, Finance, Leadership, Marketing, Strategic Management, Human Resource Management, and more. Exam content is routinely updated to remain relevant to current industry expectations.

Peregrine Global Services’ goal is to develop and promote quality in leadership and higher education by providing solutions to higher education institutions, industry thought partners, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private businesses. (peregrineglobal.com)
