Royal Oak, MI – Baker College partners with House of Dank (HOD), Michigan’s most recognized cannabis brand, to provide cannabis-related internships in Metro Detroit. This collaboration aims to create a robust talent pipeline for the cannabis industry while ensuring students receive comprehensive education and training.
Baker College continues to expand its academic offerings to cater to future-focused industries, introducing three specialized cannabis certificates. These certificates are designed to equip students with essential job skills for a successful cannabis career. Each certificate program takes nine weeks to complete and is offered fully online, making them accessible to a broad range of students.
The cannabis certificate programs are developed in partnership with Green Flower, the leader in cannabis education, and cover three critical areas: Advanced Dispensary Associate Skills Training, Cannabis Manufacturing, and Cannabis Cultivation. These programs address the urgent need for skilled workers in the cannabis industry, providing students with the knowledge and expertise required to excel in various roles.
“Partnering with House of Dank allows us to bridge the gap between education and employment,” said Kelley Suggs, Public Relations Manager for Baker College. “Our goal is to ensure students not only gain valuable knowledge about the cannabis industry but also have the opportunity to apply these skills in real-world settings through internships and job opportunities.”
House of Dank is committed to nurturing talent and providing career pathways in the cannabis industry. As part of this initiative, HOD will conduct open interviews and seeks to hire interns from Baker College’s programs, aiming to have them in place by Labor Day weekend, coinciding with the annual Soaring Eagle Arts, Beats, and Eats festival, in downtown Royal Oak, Michigan.
“House of Dank has always been about innovation and pushing our industry forward, and it’s in that grand tradition that for the first time ever we have partnered with Baker College and their new cannabis education program to create a new pipeline of careers for their students.
Kicking off at this year’s Arts, Beats, and Eats festival, we will introduce the first class of their graduates and our paid interns. We’re excited for all who will visit Dankland and/or Dankway this year,” said Michael P. DiLaura, HOD Chief of Corporate Operations.
