Robert Bey, a Shelby Twp. resident and senior at Baker College, recently earned the first place spot in the Best-Strategy Invitational (BSI), a two-week global business simulation competition.
More than 60 teams worldwide, each of whom earned a first place win in the Business Strategy Game simulation offered at their schools, participated in the international invitational in August 2018. The Business Strategy Game is a hands-on learning exercise that teaches students to hone their managerial skills while running a fictitious athletic footwear company.
Participants must demonstrate competency in analyzing revenue-cost-profit economics, crafting profitable growth strategies, assessing business risk and analyzing industry and competitive conditions within a global market. Bey bested them all to earn the championship title. Bey, who holds a 3.97 GPA at Baker, will graduate in May 2019 with a bachelor of business administration degree.
