Baker College faculty, staff and students volunteered at the Resource Fair during the Jackson Community Juneteenth celebration, an annual event that Baker College co-sponsors.
Volunteers from the Student Nurses’ Association were busy throughout the event taking blood pressures and providing coloring activities and table games for children. Baker College volunteers also manned giant inflatables for children to play on.
Juneteenth is an annual event celebrating the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. This year the event included food, music, various community agencies and an area for Michigan Works. OneStop advisor Lezlie Bowles was on the planning committee and represented Baker College on stage.
