Students participating in Traverse Bay Intermediate School District’s Early College program have the opportunity to delay accruing college loan debt by taking college courses while still in high school.
In the program, students earn college credits by completing coursework at their home high schools, the Career Tech Center in Traverse City, and at college campuses including Baker College.
The Baker College EMC programs follow a three-year program structure that identifies a specific career pathway for the student starting in the eleventh grade and continuing for an extra year or a fifth year. Upon completion of their fifth year, students will graduate high school with either a certificate, an associate degree, the Michigan Early/Middle College Association (MEMCA) Technical Certification, or up to 60 transferable college credits.
