Leadership from Baker College, as well as local and state representatives cutting the ribbon in front of Baker College’s Royal Oak Campus.

Royal Oak, MI – Baker College’s Royal Oak Campus unveils state-of-the-art facility and celebrates with a Ribbon Cutting celebration. A testament to the school’s unwavering commitment to a student-first philosophy, the new flagship campus has been designed with cutting-edge features, aiming to provide an enhanced learning environment for students. With advanced laboratories, innovative classrooms, collaborative study spaces, and various student support services, all will greatly contribute to students’ academic success and personal development.

Monday, September 25, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., invited guests took part in a meet and greet with Dr. Jacqui Spicer, President and CEO, were able to tour the 86,000-square-foot, seven-story facility, and could connect with faculty, staff, students, community leaders, and other distinguished guests. Those in attendance included Royal Oak Mayor Mike Fournier, Senator Mallory McMorrow, and Oakland County Board of Commissioners Chairman, Dave Woodward.

Located at 420 S. Lafayette, Royal Oak, MI 48067, Baker College is an integral addition to this downtown community that can enhance the social and cultural fabric of the area, create a positive economic impact, and foster future partnerships and collaborations.

“We are excited to welcome Baker College to Royal Oak and look forward to the energy they will bring to our vibrant and bustling downtown,” said Royal Oak Mayor, Mike Fournier. “We set the tone for amenities here (Royal Oak), so students don’t just come, learn, and leave, but they come, learn, and enjoy life. That is an important part of the educational experience. Our environment is conducive to outcomes that I think every higher ed institution wishes they had, and I’m grateful for the investment in Royal Oak.” Fournier said.

The ribbon cutting ceremony is an occasion to celebrate the future of Baker College as the school embarks on a new era of excellence. With the recent announcement of the first-ever mascot—the Baker College Bees, rollout of the Alumni Community, and esports team–The Swarm, the college community is buzzing with excitement for this momentous occasion.

“The opening of this campus marks the continuation of our journey of boundless possibilities. It’s more than just a new building; it’s a place where we support our students’ aspirations. It’s a place where we can build relationships and collaborate to contribute to Royal Oak’s reputation as a premier place to live, work, play, and learn. Our commitment to education has found a new home here, and we are excited to see the positive impact it will have on our students and the community,” said Dr. Spicer.
