Baker College’s Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) students consistently surpass national averages in Peregrine Exam scores. The impressive trend spans multiple years, making it clear the College of Business (CoB) is dedicated to providing a high-quality education that prepares students for success in the world of business.
These comprehensive exams, recommended by the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE), were adopted by Baker in spring 2018 and serve as a direct measure of student learning outcomes. The results for both BBA and MBA students have been impressive, with BBA students exceeding national averages for the past four years (2019-2023), and MBA students surpassing national averages for the last five years (2018-2023). In both programs, average total scores have steadily increased since adopting the exam. All BBA and MBA students are required to take the exam in their capstone courses, and during the 2022-2023 academic year, a total of 189 BBA students took the Bachelor’s level exam, while 66 MBA students tackled the Master’s level exam.
The exams cover a wide range of business subjects, including Accounting, Business Communication, Ethics, Finance, Integration, Strategic Management, Leadership, Economics, Legal Environment of Business, Human Resource Management, Operations Management, Marketing, and Quantitative Techniques. They are continually updated to ensure their relevance in the evolving business landscape.
“Baker College uses multiple success indicators to measure our students’ performance and to identify our programs’ strengths. This exam plays a key role in assessing whether our students are achieving the learning outcomes we desire. It is used as an external benchmark to see how our students perform compared to other institutions across the nation, and these results show we are getting better and better each year,” said Dr. Na Li, Dean for the College of Business.
