During National Transfer Week (Oct. 16-20), Baker College reemphasizes a commitment to making higher education even more accessible for transfer students. Whether students are looking to complete a degree, change their major, or find a better fit for their academic and career aspirations, Baker aims to make transferring a smooth experience. There are generous transfer scholarships available and the unique opportunity for free housing.
With a goal to raise awareness about typical obstacles in the transfer process and the unique needs and identities of our transfer community, The National Institute for the Study of Transfer students (NISTS) organizes this week to celebrate transfer students and the professionals who support them on their journeys. This week provides an ideal occasion to shed light on the challenges and achievements of transitioning students and to rally support from all corners.(NISTS)
Dan Summers, Baker College-VP for Academic and Enrollment Services, emphasizes the benefits of opting for Baker as the institution of choice for the more than 600 students who transfer to the school annually. “We take pride in our rich history of serving a diverse population of transfer students and strive to make the process as easy and seamless as possible by providing generous transfer equivalencies. Our dedicated Admission Advisors are committed to assisting transfer students in achieving their academic goals and providing them with the necessary support for success. We offer a wide range of programs and resources to help students make the most of their educational experience,” Summers said.
As students evaluate their academic goals, and make informed decisions about their educational journey, there are several reasons an average 600 students transfer to Baker, annually. There’s a smaller, tight-knit community providing students with a more personalized and supportive learning environment. Tuition rates are competitive, with a range of financial aid options and transfer scholarships available. Additionally, there’s a unique opportunity for free housing, reducing the financial burden for eligible students.
Students interested in transferring and exploring cost-effective options with the added advantage of free housing are encouraged to reach out to our Director of Admissions, Amanda Gebhardt-Keeton, at [email protected] or (810) 510-4915.
