Baker College will accept up to 90 credits earned at any regionally-accredited college or university toward a bachelor’s degree and up to 45 toward an associate degree. The exact number of transfer credits accepted may vary depending on your specific transfer circumstances.
Under the guidance of the American Council on Education (ACE), students can earn college credits for military service. Additionally, Baker College offers college credit for work experience for students who have demonstrated skills through employment, volunteer work, community service, professional organizations, or training. These skills must directly correlate with the competencies taught in our courses. Please note that not all courses are eligible for experiential credit.
Transfer students must have an academic record that demonstrates their ability to succeed in Baker College courses. Each student is reviewed individually based on their program of interest. Graduates of any Michigan community college must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher for admission to the college.
Yes! Transfer students are welcome and encouraged to apply for professional healthcare programs at Baker College, such as Nursing (including an Accelerated option), Surgical Technology, Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), and Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA). In addition to meeting the institution’s admission requirements, students must also fulfill the specific program admission criteria and complete a supplemental program form.
