Baker College Muskegon Campus
Students in the Muskegon Area Intermediate School District may qualify to attend Baker College, with up to two years of tuition covered through the Promise Scholarship. With sixteen high schools participating in the program, graduates are notified via a letter of eligibility and must accept the award before July 1st.
This quality scholarship program was established in 2015 to present high school students graduating with a 3.5 gpa or higher with the opportunity to earn an associate degree, complete a certificate program, or assist with the first two years of a bachelor’s degree (at Baker College of Muskegon only). Aside from living within the school district boundaries, students must apply for student aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to ensure eligibility.
The scholarship applies to several degree and certificate programs including Occupational Therapy; Information Technology, Cybersecurity, and Radiologic, Surgical, and Veterinary Technology.
“Baker is addressing the needs of Michigan students with action. From our initiatives providing free tuition, scholarships, and free on-campus housing, we are creating opportunities to positively impact our students’ lives and their communities. Being part of this program means students who seek to pursue higher education will have one more barrier removed,” said Daniel Summers II, BC Vice President for Enrollment Management Services.
Students are invited to attend an open house at Baker College’s Muskegon campus, August 2nd from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., where they can learn more about academic programs and tour student housing.
