Temporary Accommodations
The Office of Disability Services supports students with injuries or illnesses that are long lasting, but not chronic or permanent. This could mean a broken bone, a concussion, or another injury or illness that extends past a six week duration. This also encompasses accommodations for pregnancy covered under Title IX.
Temporary accommodations granted from the Office of Disability Services are established based on case-specific factors, such as:
- Impacts and symptoms of condition
- Severity
- Anticipated date of recovery
Many times, these temporary accommodations must be adapted as the recovery process proceeds. Students will work closely with the Disability Specialist throughout their recovery.
Requesting Accommodations
Students requesting temporary accommodations follow the same process as those seeking permanent accommodations, but different documentation may be needed.
To start the process, please book an appointment with the Disability Specialist.
