Program Highlights
Learn the latest engineering innovations to keep your future on track.
Modern manufacturing is based on a combination of advanced technologies that use complex machining, automation, and robotics equipment to efficiently produce a vast array of products. Our innovative and industry-driven mechatronics degree program prepares you to work in a wide variety of settings by developing your knowledge and skills across a range of aspects of manufacturing, such as welding, machining, programmable logic control, robotics and more.
- Developed in partnership with global technology leaders, this program combines hands-on training, real-world application and classroom studies to help you develop the skills you need to jumpstart your manufacturing career.
- At Baker College, we’ve made balancing your education and your life less stressful, so you get you into your field with as much experience (and as little headache) as possible.
- The Associate of Applied Science in Mechatronics degree program alternates between classroom instruction and on-the-job training in eight week intervals.
Learn Your Way
Mechatronics classes are taught exclusively at the Cadillac campus. Plus, general education and prerequisite courses are typically available through Baker Online, Online Live, and on all campuses throughout Michigan.
Learn MoreWhy Study Mechatronics?
The manufacture and assembly of precision components and products depend on mechanical systems controlled by electronic equipment. These systems are calibrated, operated, maintained and tested by electromechanical technicians who are cross-trained in multiple disciplines and apply their broad-based knowledge and technical skills to ensure that equipment and systems function smoothly.
Curriculum
The Baker College Associate of Applied Science in Mechatronics degree program is a 3-year program consisting of 63 credit hours (48 hours of major courses and 15 hours of general education requirements). Our curriculum includes circuits, machining, industrial controls and instrumentation, PLC programming, robotics and a capstone project
