Royal Oak, MI — Baker College is bringing its hive spirit to the ballpark, and proceeds benefit students in need. Students, alumni, and staff will enjoy a summer sendoff at the Detroit Tigers game against the Atlanta Braves, Saturday, September 20, at 1:10 p.m. at Comerica Park in Detroit, MI. The outing will feature exclusive access to the Baker College Party Deck, complete with complimentary food, networking opportunities, and a swag giveaway.
In addition to providing a memorable event experience with fun and fellowship, this event is rooted in a greater purpose: all net proceeds will benefit The Hive Student Emergency Grant Fund. Through the Student Success & Engagement services, a range of personal care resources is available to help students navigate life’s challenges including emergency grants that provide critical financial support to Baker College students facing unexpected hardships, ensuring they can stay focused on their academic journey. Each Baker campus maintains a curated list of community-based resources, ensuring students have access to vital assistance whenever they need it including food, housing, childcare, and mental health support.
“Baker College is committed to building both community and opportunity for our students,” said Dr. Jacqui Spicer, President and CEO of Baker College. “This event is not only a chance to cheer on the Tigers together, but also to directly support our students by strengthening The Hive Student Emergency Grant Fund. It’s a wonderful example of our mission in action which supports students even beyond the classroom.”
Tickets are open to the entire Baker College community—including students, staff, faculty, and alumni. Guests who come dressed in their Baker Best will receive an extra entry for giveaways. Official Baker College and Alumni Store gear is available for those looking to represent the hive with pride.
