Muskegon, MI — Baker College and Trinity Health Michigan have joined forces to create innovative, workforce-driven solutions to address the state and nation’s growing shortage of certified imaging technologists. Together, the organizations have launched a paid Computed Tomography (CT) Training Program in Michigan that begins June 23, 2025 with the next cohort to start in January 2026.
Trinity Health Michigan is now hiring aspiring radiologic technologists to join their team while completing their education through Baker College. This innovative program allows participants to complete online coursework with Baker College, gain hands-on clinical experience onsite, and work full-time in paid positions with benefits at Trinity Health facilities. In just 23 weeks, students can become a certified CT technologist. This pathway is also open to current Trinity Health employees.
“This is a great opportunity to help students advance their careers and to help Trinity Health fill their positions of most need,” said Dr. Chris Schmidt, Associate Dean for the College of Health Science at Baker College. “This is a win for both organizations, and I am happy to be a part of this partnership.”
Highlights of the Program:
- 23 weeks, full-time training (June 23 – December 6)
- Program tuition fully covered by Trinity Health
- Placement at a Trinity Health Michigan facility post-training
- 14 college credits applicable toward a bachelor’s degree
- Job security with a two-year employment commitment
“By investing in the next generation of CT technologists, we’re building a sustainable, highly skilled workforce that will support the future of healthcare,” said Traci Snider, Executive Director, Radiology, Trinity Health Michigan. “Both Baker College and Trinity Health are deeply committed to empowering students and strengthening the workforce, especially in critical fields facing nationwide shortages.”
Eligible participants must pass the ARRT radiography boards, maintain an 80% GPA, and commit to second- or third-shift employment upon completion. Students may reside anywhere in Michigan, as long as they are able to complete their clinical training at an approved Trinity Health site within the state.
