CADILLAC, MI — Baker College Cadillac Campus announces the success of its inaugural Deck the Halls, Spread the Joy holiday fundraising event, held on campus on December 4. Launching what the College hopes will become a cherished annual tradition, the celebration raised $2,250, with all proceeds benefiting this year’s winning tree’s selected charity: Vets Serving Vets, a Cadillac-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting local veterans. The official check presentation took place Wednesday, December 17, at the Vets Serving Vets headquarters. The program included remarks from Baker College on the significance of the event, an overview of Vets Serving Vets and its mission, and the presentation of the donation. Baker College staff and students joined Vets Serving Vets volunteers to mark the occasion and celebrate the impact of the community’s generosity.
This fundraising event featured decorated holiday trees created by Baker College students and staff. Following the celebration, each tree was donated to a local care facility or non-profit organization, helping brighten the holiday season for residents and extending the spirit of the event throughout the community.
“We were honored to represent so many fantastic charities and nonprofit organizations that do tremendous work for our local communities,” said Randy Hill, Campus Director of Baker College Cadillac. “This inaugural event truly showcased the generosity of our students, staff, and community partners. Supporting Vets Serving Vets is a privilege, and we look forward to building on this tradition in the years to come.”
Baker College extends heartfelt appreciation to the event sponsors, whose generosity and partnership helped bring the celebration to life. Their support ensured an engaging, family-friendly experience while amplifying the impact of the funds raised for local veterans.
Teresa Franklin, President of Vets Serving Vets, expressed gratitude for the donation and the community’s support. “We are humbled by the generosity of the Baker College community. This contribution will directly impact veterans in Northern Michigan by helping us continue our mission to support, serve, and advocate for those who have served our country. We are truly thankful for this partnership.”
With charming holiday trees, live music, fun competition, and community voting, the event showcased Baker College’s commitment to strengthening community ties and creating traditions that bring people together.
