Royal Oak, MI – In recognition of May as Military Appreciation Month, Baker College celebrates its continued designation as a 2025-2026 Military Friendly® School, earning a Silver status. This national recognition reflects Baker College’s continued support for military-affiliated students, including active-duty service members, veterans, and their families.
“At Baker College, honoring and supporting our military community is more than a designation—it’s a year-round mission,” said Dr. Voula Erfouth, Vice President for Student Success and Engagement. “We’re proud to create a learning environment where military-connected students feel supported, valued, and empowered to achieve their academic and professional goals.”
The designation is a leading benchmark that recognizes colleges and universities for excellence in supporting military students. Institutions are evaluated on student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, and support services.
“Military Friendly® is committed to transparency and providing consistent data-driven standards in our designation process. Our standards provide a benchmark that promotes positive outcomes and support services that better the educational landscape and provide opportunity for the Military Community,” said Kayla Lopez, Vice President, Military Friendly® . “This creates a competitive atmosphere that encourages Institutions to evolve and invest in their programs consistently. Schools who achieve awards designation show true commitment in their efforts, exceeding the standard.”
Baker College also demonstrated its commitment to military students during the recent Spring 2025 Commencement ceremonies, where graduates with military connections were recognized with a special military honor cord, marking the second year for this public display. Hear directly from our veteran graduates and see how Baker College helped shape their path.
Baker College extends heartfelt gratitude to all who have served, and reaffirms its commitment to providing inclusive, accessible, and high-quality education for those who protect and defend our nation.

The Military Friendly ® Schools list is created each year based on extensive research using public data sources from more than 8,800 schools nationwide, input from student veterans, and responses to the proprietary, data-driven Military Friendly® Schools survey from participating institutions. The survey questions, methodology, criteria and weighting were developed with the assistance of an independent research firm and an advisory council of educators and employers. The survey is administered for free and is open to all postsecondary schools that wish to participate.
