Royal Oak, MI — As National Transfer Student Week (October 20–24, 2025) and Michigan College Month are observed this fall, Baker College is reaffirming its mission to provide students with accessible, affordable pathways to higher education.
Baker continues to provide opportunities for students through a tuition freeze on undergraduate programs, reduced graduate tuition rates, and housing scholarships for the Owosso, Cadillac, and Port Huron campuses. Additionally, in October, some Michigan colleges participate in the no application month program. Baker College participates year round, as there is no fee to apply to online or campus programs. These initiatives are designed to remove financial barriers and support both first-time and transfer students in pursuing their educational goals. The Baker College Board of Directors approved a tuition freeze for the 2024–2025 academic year, and it is still in place.
“Our mission is simple: Students come first,” said Dr. Jacqui Spicer, President and CEO of Baker College. “We are committed to providing unique and impactful programs and services that allow more students to access a quality post-secondary education. We don’t want cost to be why students defer their educational dreams.”
“Transfer students are a vital part of our community,” said Linda Katrinic, Vice President of Financial Aid. “By offering generous transfer scholarships, free housing opportunities, and a streamlined admissions process, we’re making it easier for students to transition to Baker and stay focused on their success.”
