Owosso, MI — Baker College celebrated the grand opening of Hoddy Hill— a newly constructed outdoor gathering space designed to bring together students, faculty, and the Owosso community.
Named in honor of a respected Owosso community leader, Hoddy Hill embodies collaboration, connection, and the spirit of growth that defines Baker College. The thoughtfully designed space features comfortable seating, a cozy fire pit, and an open area perfect for conversation, study, and celebration.
The event drew members of the Baker Hive, local community partners, and other distinguished guests. Attendees enjoyed lunch from Tamale Rose Food Truck, campus tours, music, and giveaways before the official ribbon-cutting ceremony.
“Hoddy Hill represents more than just a beautiful outdoor space,” said Voula Erfourth, Ph.D., Chief People Officer at Baker College. “It’s a reflection of our commitment to fostering community, connection, and wellbeing — values that are at the heart of who we are as an institution. We’re proud to share this space with both our students and the Owosso community.”
Baker College extends special thanks to the contractors and partners who helped bring Hoddy Hill to life, including Collard Concrete and Sunburst Gardens, Ludington Electric, and Lamphere’s Plumbing and Heating.
Located next to the Bell Tower on the Baker College of Owosso campus, Hoddy Hill stands as a welcoming space that’s a new symbol of unity and pride within the Baker Hive.
