Royal Oak, MI — Baker College announces its Running Start dual enrollment program has been officially accredited by the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP). This prestigious recognition comes after a comprehensive peer review and evaluation of the program’s alignment with NACEP’s national standards of quality and excellence in concurrent enrollment.
Baker College received re-accreditation for its Concurrent Enrollment Program (CEP) and earned initial accreditation for its College-Provided Faculty (CPF) model, making it the first institution in Michigan to hold dual endorsements in both pathways. The new accreditation is valid through the 2031–2032 academic year.
The Running Start program allows high school students across Michigan to earn college credit through rigorous, college-level courses taught either by qualified high school instructors or by college faculty. The dual accreditation affirms Baker’s leadership in promoting access, academic integrity, and student achievement in early college initiatives.
The concurrent enrollment programs have been active since 2010 and direct credit programs since 2014. Last year, 689 students were served across the Running Start programs.
“Accreditation through NACEP reaffirms our commitment to delivering high-quality dual enrollment experiences that meet rigorous national standards,” said Randy Hill, Vice President for Academic Affairs. “This achievement would not be possible without the dedication and support of our K-12 partners, who work alongside us to ensure students gain an early and impactful introduction to their college journey.”
NACEP will celebrate this milestone at its 2025 National Conference, October 26–28 in Los Angeles, California.
