Robert Kaczor, College of Information Technology and Engineering
For Robert Kaczor, transferring to Baker College was a turning point. After facing challenges with course scheduling and support at another school, Robert sought a program that valued flexibility, real-world learning, and personal connection. He found exactly that in Baker’s Information Technology program.
As the first in his family to earn a college degree—and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran—Robert quickly connected his military background to his new field.
“My favorite experiences at Baker College stem from how my program ties into my professional passions and my past career in the U.S. Marines. The discipline and training I gained during my time in the military—such as being alert, working behind the scenes, and maintaining a security-conscious mindset—have seamlessly transitioned into the field of Information Technology and Security.
At Baker College, Robert discovered a program that was comprehensive, practical, and supportive.
“One of the things I love most about the Information Technology program at Baker College is how seamlessly it aligned with my completed coursework while also offering additional classes to strengthen my degree and broaden my education. The program has given me a deeper understanding of several areas within IT, taught by knowledgeable experts, not just theoretical content. It has opened up more career opportunities, paving the way for a brighter future and a better life.”
With access to online tutoring, expert faculty, and hands-on experience, Robert is now confidently advancing toward a career where his technical skills and military precision make a real difference.
“I thrive on the challenge of staying vigilant and prepared, knowing that threats can arise both inside and outside of an organization. For me, IT is an extension of the physical and strategic security training I received in the Marines and a perfect fit for someone like me, who values structure and constant engagement.”
