Looking for a great career that combines creativity and analytical thinking? A career in marketing could be just what you’re looking for. Not only is marketing a very fast-growing industry, it’s a career that poses many unique challenges and allows you to use a lot of different skills on the job.
Marketers provide the link between businesses that have goods and services to sell and customers who want to purchase them. The marketing process involves a variety of activities, including research, strategic planning, product development, sales management and marketing communications.
Students in this program participate in active learning and demonstrate an understanding of basic business principles using case studies, business simulations, computer technology, spreadsheets, written reports, problem analysis, professional presentations, ethical values, a global perspective and human relations skills through individual and team activities in class and in business situations. This degree offers a solid background in the concepts of marketing and business.
By the time you complete this program, you’ll have the skills and education it takes to gain employment in entry-level marketing positions at advertising and marketing agencies or in-house marketing departments. Since many companies have in-house marketing departments, you could potentially work with businesses in a wide variety of exciting industries.
Many of our graduates go on to start careers in marketing management, personal selling, promotional strategy, retail merchandising, market research and sales management.
The Baker College Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing program is a 4-year, IACBE-accredited program consisting of 120 credit hours (36 hours of major courses and 54 hours of business requirements). Our curriculum includes 30 general education credit requirements, marketing strategy and design (capstone) and two 120-hour work experiences.
It’s a really tight-knit group of faculty members that actually work in the field and can help you grow as a student and in your business…Baker is pretty career focused on a lot of things where they kind of set you on a path and help you along to get to your career goal.
Students interested in completing the 5-year MBA program must apply to the Center of Graduate Studies for acceptance into the program. Students considering this program should contact their academic advisor to review program requirements and acceptance criteria. A minimum 3.5 GPA is required.

The College of Business at Baker College has received specialized accreditation for its business programs through the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE), located at 11374 Strang Line Road in Lenexa, Kansas, USA. List of accredited programs.
This program is offered in-person on our campuses in Auburn Hills, Cadillac, Jackson, Muskegon, and Owosso. Baker College online programs are available to students across the country. In Michigan our students come from Ann Arbor, Auburn Hills, Cadillac, Dearborn, Detroit, Flint, Grand Rapids, Jackson, Lansing, Kalamazoo, Muskegon, Owosso, Traverse City, and many other locations. Beyond Michigan, our online graduates hail from Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and other states.
