Management degrees are extremely versatile, especially when you have a strong understanding of how businesses operate. With our 4+1 BBA/MBA Management program, you can learn the skills and concepts you need to start or excel in multiple business careers in many different types of environments, including nonprofit organizations, privately held companies, large corporations and small businesses.
The objective of this program is to train broadly competent managers for leadership roles in a wide variety of organizations, public or private, product or service-oriented and profit or not for profit. To accomplish this basic objective, this program offers students the opportunity to acquire knowledge about the management of human and physical resources and to acquire skills useful in the management of any organization.
This program emphasizes the importance of effective oral and written communication, teamwork, decision-making, entrepreneurial management and diversity in the business environment. In addition, it introduces students to the application and strategic use of the acquired knowledge and skills in areas such as personnel management, organizational behavior, production management, international business and small business.
The Baker College 4+1 BBA/MBA Management program is a 5-year, IACBE-accredited program consisting of 141 credit hours (36 hours of major courses and 54 hours of business requirements). Our curriculum includes 30 general education credit requirements, applied leadership and strategy in a global environment (capstone).
I chose Baker for the curriculum. They look at what you’re going to need, and a lot of MBAs are general. ...I felt that a lot of the things that I was doing in school, I could directly translate into what I was doing in the hospital.
Assuming a student will choose the MBA Business Administration major, upon completing a BBA in management degree, he/she will need to complete additional courses to receive an MBA degree. Students will have the option of choosing another major upon admission into the MBA program. If so, the academic plan will change accordingly.
Once admitted, you will be allowed to take up to 15 MBA credit hours in your junior and senior years to fulfill the Business Elective courses requirements. The MBA credit hours will apply toward both the BBA and MBA degree requirements. Please contact the Enrollment Department for admission criteria and submit applications to the Center for Graduate Studies upon completion of 60 credits toward your BBA in management degree. A minimum 3.0 GPA is required.
Our quality-focused, market-driven and rigorous program curricula will establish and enhance core business knowledge and the ability to anticipate and react to societal changes, as well as provide students with technological proficiency, the ability to make ethical decisions and the communication skills that embody the professional acumen graduates need to make positive contributions to their chosen fields.
