Why Earn Dual Business Management Degrees?

The objective of this dual online business management degree is to train broadly competent managers for leadership roles in a wide variety of organizations, public or private, product or service-oriented and profit or not for profit. To accomplish this basic objective, this business and management degree offers students the opportunity to acquire knowledge about the management of human and physical resources and to acquire skills useful in the management of any organization. This business management degree emphasizes the importance of effective oral and written communication, teamwork, decision-making, entrepreneurial management and diversity in the business environment. In addition, it introduces students to the application and strategic use of the acquired knowledge and skills in areas such as personnel management, organizational behavior, production management, international business and small business.

Management Degree Curriculum

The Baker College dual degree in business management is a 4-year, IACBE-accredited program consisting of 135 credit hours.

Applied Leadership

Description
Examines a variety of leadership and management styles and their application. Emphasis is on problem-solving, collaboration, managing resources, ethical behavior, using appropriate leadership style, team-building and characteristics of effective leadership.

Human Behavior Management of Organizations

Description
Provides students with an understanding of individuals, groups and organizations as a whole. This course considers such topics as alignment of people within an organization, as well as techniques for these individuals to manage and lead more effectively. This course will also discuss how technology, the Internet, globalism and virtual teaming are impacting the work environment today.

Strategy in a Global Environment

Description
Provides the capstone course for the MBA program. It builds upon and integrates the theories, skills and knowledge from previous courses. Students have the opportunity to make strategic decisions that affect performance and long-term viability of business enterprises. Students will analyze the business strategies of current public corporations. Students will also complete a decision-making business simulation.

Additional Management Degree Requirements

Assuming a student will choose the MBA Business Administration major, upon completing a bachelor in management, they will need to complete additional courses to receive an MBA degree. Students will have the option of choosing another major upon admission into the MBA program. If so, the academic plan will change accordingly. Once admitted, you will be allowed to take up to 15 MBA credit hours in your junior and senior years to fulfill the Business Elective courses requirements. The MBA credit hours will apply toward both the BBA and MBA degree requirements. Please contact us for admission criteria and submit applications to the Center for Graduate Studies upon completion of 60 credits toward your bachelor's degree in business management. A minimum 3.0 GPA is required.
