Expand your teaching potential and reach more young minds with a double major.

Why limit yourself to being able to only teach one subject? Being able to teach two different subjects makes it possible for you to take advantage of more opportunities throughout your career.

Our secondary teacher preparation bachelor degree program prepares you to teach two different subjects. In this program, you’ll complete a mathematics and social studies major. In addition to all the classes you’ll take focusing on your majors, you’ll also take several classes that will help you learn the instructional methods and techniques that will help you succeed as an educator.

After you graduate from this program, you’ll be eligible to take the test to qualify for a Michigan Provisional Secondary Teaching Certificate, which will allow you to teach subjects related to your majors in grades 6-12.

The curriculum at Baker absolutely helped me. I had great instructors, instructors who were educators. Just for teachers to connect with students, it was important to me for those instructors to connect with me.
