Unlike other types of financial aid, scholarships are often awarded based on academic excellence. But not every scholarship is designed for those who excel in academics. Most scholarships are awarded automatically, while others require an application. There are scholarships available for students who have special interests or specific career objective. Many local agencies, businesses or clubs offer scholarships for outstanding achievement.

High School Seniors:
Deans Scholarship
$1,500/semester ($4,500/yr. max.), up to 4 years
The deadline for this scholarship has been extended until April 15, 2021

Note: Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the GPA and SAT/ACT eligibility criteria has been updated for the fall 2021 semester. Students may qualify for the scholarship by meeting either the GPA or SAT/ACT eligibility requirements.

Eligibility
Baker College will award the Deans Scholarship to graduating high school seniors based on the following criteria:

  • The student must be attending an undergraduate campus.
  • The student must have at least a 3.0 GPA (based on a 4.0 GPA scale) by the end of their junior or senior year.
  • The student must have earned at least a 980 SAT score (or 19 ACT score).
  • The student must enroll and attend during the summer or fall semester after high school graduation.

Scholarship Amount
The scholarship will be awarded at $1,500 per semester (up to $4,500 per year for students who attend summer). The scholarship is available for up to 4 years. The total value is estimated at $12,000.

Deadline
The scholarship deadline is March 1. The student must submit the following documents prior to March 1 to be considered for the scholarship during the upcoming school year:

  • Completed and Paid Admissions Application.
  • High School Transcript (Please contact your Admissions Advisor if an extension is needed).
  • SAT or ACT scores.
  • The deadline for this scholarship has been extended until April 15, 2021

Scholarship Requirements
To receive the scholarship funds, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Register for a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester (exceptions are allowed when required based on program restrictions). If exceptions are made, the scholarship award amount may be prorated based on the student’s enrollment status.
  • Summer registration is not required; however, funds will be awarded if students attend during the summer semester. The award amount will be prorated if the student does not attend full time.
  • For renewal, students must maintain a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA at the end of each spring semester.
  • Students receiving the scholarship will not be awarded other institutional aid or scholarships (unless the other scholarship allows funds to be combined).
  • Students are encouraged to apply for financial aid; however, financial need is not a requirement to receive the scholarship.
  • The scholarship amount is based on institutional charges. If the student is eligible for financial aid (or other funding resources), the other aid/resources must be used first; the balance of unused portion of the scholarship is returned to the college.
FIRST Robotics Scholarship
$2,000 non-renewable

Eligibility
Baker College has established the FIRST Robotics Scholarship to recognize the achievements of the FIRST Robotics Competition and FIRST Tech Challenge participants. For scholarship consideration, the student must:

  • Have participated in the FIRST Robotics Competition or FIRST Tech Challenge.
  • Have at least a 3.0 cumulative high school GPA (based on a 4.0 GPA scale) by the end of their junior or senior year.
  • Enroll at Baker College during the fall semester following high school graduation.
  • Attend one of our College of Engineering and Information Technology programs.
  • Submit a 250-300 word essay describing your experience with the FIRST Robotics Competition or FIRST Tech Challenge and how this scholarship will assist you with your educational and career pursuits.

Scholarship Amount
Two Gold level scholarships will be awarded for $2,000 each and will be divided between fall and spring semesters.

Deadline
The student must submit the application, documentation of participation, and essay prior the June 1 deadline for consideration of this scholarship.

Scholarship Requirements
To receive the scholarship funds, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Students are encouraged to register full time, but must register for a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester.
  • Summer registration is not required; however, funds could be used for summer semester if requested.
  • This scholarship is not renewable.
  • This scholarship may be combined with other federal, state or institutional grants or scholarships for which the student qualifies.
  • Students are encouraged to apply for financial aid; however, financial need is not a requirement to receive the scholarship.
  • The scholarship amount is based on institutional charges. If the student is eligible for financial aid (or other funding resources), the other aid/resources must be used first; the balance of unused portion of the scholarship is returned to the college.
  • This scholarship is awarded to the qualifying student and is not transferable.

Application
Qualified students should complete the application (including their essay and letter of recommendation) through our Online Application Process prior to June 1.

Presidential Scholarship
Full Tuition, up to 4 years

Eligibility
Baker College will select five graduating high school seniors to receive the Presidential Scholarship. Students will be selected based on the following criteria:

  • The student must be attending an undergraduate campus.
  • The student must have at least a 3.8 GPA (based on a 4.0 GPA scale) by the end of their junior year or after the first semester of their senior year.
  • The student must have earned at least a 1390 SAT score (or 30 ACT score).
  • The student must submit the scholarship application and written essay explaining why they should be selected for the scholarship.
  • The student must enroll and attend during the summer or fall semester after high school graduation.

Students who qualify for the Presidential Scholarship, but are not one of the five selected, will receive the Regents Scholarship.

 

Scholarship Amount
The scholarship will cover 100% of the tuition charges for up to 4 years. The total value is estimated at $50,000.

Deadline
The scholarship application deadline is December 15. The student must submit the following documents prior to December 15 to be considered for the scholarship during the upcoming school year:

  • Completed & Paid Admissions Application.
  • HS Transcript showing the minimum GPA requirements.
  • SAT or ACT scores.
  • Scholarship application & essay.

Scholarship Requirements
To receive the scholarship funds, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Register for a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester (exceptions are allowed when required based on program restrictions). If exceptions are made, the scholarship award amount will be prorated based on the student’s enrollment status.

Baker College will award the Regents Scholarship to graduating high school seniors based on the following criteria:

  • The student must be attending an undergraduate campus.
  • The student must have at least a 3.5 GPA (based on a 4.0 GPA scale) by the end of their junior or senior year.
  • The student must have earned at least a 1060 SAT score (or 21 ACT score).
  • The student must enroll and attend during the summer or fall semester after high school graduation.

Scholarship Amount
The scholarship will be awarded at $3,000 per semester (up to $9,000 per year for students who attend summer). The scholarship is available for up to 4 years. The total value is estimated at $24,000.

Deadline
The scholarship deadline is March 1. The student must submit the following documents prior to March 1 to be considered for the scholarship during the upcoming school year:

  • Completed & Paid Admissions Application.
  • High School Transcript (Please contact your Admissions Advisor if an extension is needed).
  • SAT or ACT scores.
  • The deadline for this scholarship has been extended until April 15, 2021

Scholarship Requirements

Transfer Scholarship
$1,500/semester ($4,500/yr. max.), up to 3 years

Note: If a student’s GPA was negatively impacted due to the COVID-19 Pandemic (during an Asterisk Semester), their previous cumulative GPA may be utilized to determine scholarship eligibility.

Eligibility
Baker College will award the Transfer Scholarship to new Baker College students based on the following criteria:

  • The student must be attending an undergraduate campus.
  • The student must have earned at least 30 semester credits from an accredited college or university that are transferable to Baker College.
  • Student must have achieved at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA (based on a 4.0 scale) at the prior college or university.

Scholarship Amount
The scholarship will be awarded at $1,500 per semester for full time enrollment (up to $4,500 per year for students who attend summer). The award amount is prorated for students who attend less than 12 credit hours. The scholarship is available for up to 3 years.

Deadline
The scholarship deadline is 30 days prior to the start of the semester the student plans to enroll as a new student. The student must submit the following documents prior to the deadline to be considered for the scholarship:

  • Completed & Paid Admissions Application.
  • Official College Transcripts showing the courses and cumulative GPA.

Scholarship Requirements
To receive the scholarship funds, students must meet the following criteria:

 

  • Students are encouraged to register full time in order to receive the full scholarship award amount of $1,500 per semester. The student must register for a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester. Students who register 6-8 credits will be awarded $750 per semester; students who register 9-11 credits will be awarded $1,125 per semester.
  • Summer registration is not required; however, funds will be awarded if students attend during the summer semester.
  • For renewal, students must maintain a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA at the end of each spring semester.
  • Students receiving the scholarship will not be awarded other institutional aid or scholarships (unless the other scholarship allows funds to be combined).
  • Students are encouraged to apply for financial aid; however, financial need is not a requirement to receive the scholarship.
  • The scholarship amount is based on institutional charges. If the student is eligible for financial aid (or other funding resources), the other aid/resources must be used first; the balance of unused portion of the scholarship is returned to the college.
  • To qualify, the student must be a new Baker College student (students who previously attended Baker College are not eligible).
Trustees Transfer Scholarship
$3,000/semester ($9,000/yr. max.), up to 3 years

Eligibility
Baker College will award the Trustees Transfer Scholarship to new Baker College students based on the following criteria:

  • The student must be attending an undergraduate campus.
  • The student must have earned at least 60 semester credits from an accredited college or university that are transferable to Baker College (or have earned an associate degree from an accredited college or university).
  • Student must have achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA (based on a 4.0 scale) at the prior college or university.

Scholarship Amount
The scholarship will be awarded at $3,000 per semester for full time enrollment (up to $9,000 per year for students who attend summer). The award amount is prorated for students who attend less than 12 credit hours. The scholarship is available for up to 3 years.

Deadline
The scholarship deadline is 30 days prior to the start of the semester the student plans to enroll as a new student. The student must submit the following documents prior to the deadline to be considered for the scholarship:

  • Completed & Paid Admissions Application.
  • Official College Transcripts showing the courses and cumulative GPA.

Scholarship Requirements

General Scholarships (New and/or Current Students):
Children of Fallen Heroes Scholarship
Amount Varies

Eligibility
Available to Pell-eligible students whose parent or guardian died in the line of duty while performing as a public safety officer. To be eligible, the student must be under the age of 24 or enrolled at an institution of higher education at the time of his or her parent’s or guardian’s death.

Scholarship Amount
The scholarship will be awarded as follows:

  • Students who are determined to be eligible for the Children of Fallen Heroes Scholarship will become eligible for the maximum Pell Grant for his or her enrollment status.

Deadline
To qualify for the scholarship complete the FAFSA application and email [email protected]

Scholarship Requirements

  • For purposes of the Children of Fallen Heroes Scholarship, a public safety officer is:
    • As defined in section 1204 of title I of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 (42 U.S.C. 3796b); or
    • A fire police officer, defined as an individual who is serving in accordance with State or local law as an officially recognized or designated member of a legally organized public safety agency and provides scene security or directs traffic in response to any fire drill, fire call, or other fire, rescue, or police emergency, or at a planned special event.
  • Documentation to support your eligibility will be required. Documentation could include one of the following items.
    • A determination letter acknowledging eligibility for certain federal benefits under the Public Safety Officers Benefit (PSOB) program administered by the Department of Justice;
    • A written letter of attestation or determination made by a state or local government official with supervisory or other relevant oversight authority of an individual who died in the line of duty while serving as a public safety officer as defined above;
    • Documentation of the student qualifying for a state tuition or other state benefit accorded to the children or other family members of a public safety officer consistent with the definition in 42 U.S.C. 3796b, or as a fire police officer as noted above; or
    • Other documentation the school determines to be from a credible source that describes or reports the circumstances of the death and the occupation of the parent or guardian.
Frederick and Dorothy Baker Scholarship
$3,000 non-renewable
New ADI Students

Eligibility
Baker College will award the Frederick and Dorothy Baker Scholarship to students based on the following criteria:

  • High school students/graduates must have at least a 2.5 GPA (based on a 4.0 scale) by the end of their junior or senior year of high school.
  • College transfer students must have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA at their prior college or university.
  • The student must enroll into the Certificate of Diesel or Certificate of Automotive Services Technology programs.

Scholarship Amount
The scholarship will be awarded for up to $3,000 per year ($1,500 for fall and spring semesters).

Deadline
The scholarship is awarded at time of acceptance into the college. The deadline is 30 days prior to the start of the semester the student plans to enroll.

Scholarship Requirements
To receive the scholarship funds, students must meet the following criteria:

  • The student must follow the Automotive and Diesel cohort class rotation schedules.
  • The scholarship must be used in consecutive terms.
  • The scholarship is not renewable.
  • The scholarship can be used with other Baker College scholarships with the exception of the Transfer or Trustees Transfer Scholarships.
  • The scholarship amount is based on institutional charges. If the student is eligible for financial aid (or other funding resources), the other aid/resources must be used first; the balance of unused portion of the scholarship is returned to the college.
Muskegon Area Promise Scholarship
Amount varies
New and Current Muskegon Campus Only

Eligibility
Baker College participates in the Muskegon Promise Scholarship program. For program eligibility details, please visit the Muskegon Area Intermediate School District website at http://www.muskegonisd.org/career-college/promise/

  • Students must live within the boundaries of the Muskegon Area Intermediate School District (MAISD).
  • Students must graduate from high school located within the boundaries of MAISD with a cumulative 3.5 GPA or higher.
  • Students must apply for student aid using the FAFSA and complete the verification process.

Scholarship Amount
The scholarship amount is set by the Muskegon Promise Scholarship program.

Deadline
There is no application. Students will be notified of eligibility by letter and asked to accept the award in writing each spring.

Scholarship Requirements
To receive the scholarship funds, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Students will have a maximum of four years after high school graduation to use their Promise Scholarship award.
  • The scholarship amount is calculated based on allowable charges. If the student is eligible for financial aid, the other aid must be used first; the balance of unused portion of the scholarship is returned to the college.
  • Students must successfully complete their coursework and maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress to maintain eligibility for the scholarship.
Porter Scholarship
$4,000 non-renewable
New and Current CIM Students

Eligibility
Baker College will award the Porter Scholarship to new or current students based on the following criteria:

  • New student qualifications:
    • The student must attend the Baker College Culinary Institute of Michigan (Port Huron or Muskegon)
    • The student must have at least a 3.0 GPA (based on a 4.0 GPA scale) by the end of their junior or senior year
    • The student must enroll and attend during the summer or fall semester after high school graduation
  • Current student qualifications:
    • The student must attend the Baker College Culinary Institute of Michigan (Port Huron or Muskegon)
    • The student must have earned a minimum of 24 credit hours
    • The student must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA

Scholarship Amount
The scholarship is awarded for $4,000 and is divided between fall and spring semesters.

Deadline
The student must submit submit the following documents prior to June 1 for scholarship consideration:

  • Completed scholarship application.
  • A 250-300 word essay explaining:
    • New Students: Why you will pursue the culinary profession and how the scholarship will help you achieve your educational goal.
    • Current Students: Define what service leadership means to you. Describe how you have enriched the lives of fellow students, college and community members through service leadership while attending the CIM. How will the scholarship help you achieve your educational goal.

Scholarship Requirements
To receive the scholarship funds, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Attend full time each semester (exceptions are allowed when required based on program restrictions). If exceptions are made, the scholarship award amount may be prorated based on the student’s enrollment status.
  • The scholarship funds will not be used to cover classes outside the students CIM program.
  • This scholarship may be combined with other federal, state or institutional grants or scholarships for which the student qualifies.
  • Students are encouraged to apply for financial aid; however, financial need is not a requirement to receive the scholarship.
  • The scholarship amount is based on institutional charges. If the student is eligible for financial aid (or other funding resources), the other aid/resources must be used first; the balance of unused portion of the scholarship is returned to the college.

Application
Qualified students should complete the application through our Online Application Process prior to June 1.

Student Ambassador Bronze Scholarship
$500/semester ($1,500/yr. max)

Eligibility
Baker College will award the Student Ambassador Bronze Scholarship to students who apply for and are accepted to participate as a Student Ambassador. The Student Ambassador Program is a leadership program that offers Baker College students an opportunity to represent and promote Baker College to prospective students, their families and other guests. Student Ambassadors will be able to educate visitors about the campus life, traditions and achievements of the college through supporting the Enrollment Management department by conducting campus tours and supporting high school recruitment events.

Scholarship Amount
The scholarship will be awarded for $500 per semester (up to $1,500 per year) as long as the student continues to remain an active Student Ambassador.

Scholarship Requirements
To receive the scholarship funds, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Remain in good standing and not on disciplinary probation.
  • Available to commit to a full academic year (unless their academic program is less than a year in length).
  • Students with at least six credit hours at Baker College are preferred.
  • This scholarship may be combined with other federal, state or institutional grants or scholarships for which the student qualifies. The scholarship may impact other financial aid award eligibility.
  • Students are encouraged to apply for financial aid; however, financial need is not a requirement to receive the scholarship.
  • Scholarship funds will be used to cover institutional charges; if all charges are covered, excess monies will be refunded to the student to help cover living expenses.
  • For renewal, Students must continue to serve as a Student Ambassador.

Application
Students interested in the Student Ambassador program, should complete the application.

Student Life Leadership Scholarship
$2,250/semester ($4,500/yr. max), up to 4 years
Cadillac, Muskegon, Owosso and Port Huron Campuses Only

Eligibility
Baker College will award the Student Life Leadership Scholarship to students who apply for and are accepted to participate in the Student Life Leadership Council.

  • The student must be attending the Cadillac, Muskegon, Owosso or Port Huron campus.
  • The student must live in campus housing.
  • The student must sign the Student Life Leadership Council commitment form.

Scholarship Amount
The scholarship will be awarded for $2,250 per semester (up to $4,500 per year) as long as the student continues to remain an active member of the Student Life Leadership Council.

Deadline
To qualify for the scholarship, the student must:

  • Apply for and be accepted as a member of the Student Life Leadership Council.

Scholarship Requirements
To receive the scholarship funds, students must meet the following criteria:

  • The student must register for a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester (exceptions are allowed when required based on program rotation).
  • This scholarship may be combined with other federal, state or institutional grants or scholarships for which the student qualifies. The scholarship may impact other financial aid award eligibility.
  • Students are encouraged to apply for financial aid; however, financial need is not a requirement to receive the scholarship.
  • Scholarship funds will be used to cover institutional charges; if all charges are covered, excess monies will be refunded to the student to help cover living expenses.

  • T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® MICHIGAN is a statewide scholarship program designed to help child care center teaching staff, preschool teachers, family child care providers, group home owners, center directors, early childhood professionals and administrators meet their professional development goals, while continuing their current employment in regulated early childhood and school age care settings T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® MICHIGAN addresses two major challenges in the early education and care field – low wages and high turnover.

    The scholarship helps increase compensation and the retention of skilled teachers. The education level of child care providers is one of the most critical indicators of the quality of a child’s experiences in child care. Scholarship Amount
The scholarship will cover up to six credit hours of tuition.

Deadline
The scholarship does not have a deadline. Applications are accepted at any time.

Scholarship Requirements
To receive the scholarship funds, students must meet the following criteria:

 

  • Students must be pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.

Current Undergraduate Students:
BakerProud Scholarship
$1,000/semester, non-renewable

Eligibility
Baker College will award the BakerProud Scholarship to students based on the following criteria:

  • The student must be pursuing an undergraduate degree.
  • The student must have a minimum of 28 credit hours earned and a 3.0 GPA after spring semester grades are complete.
    • Note: Due to their program rotation, Vet Tech students must have 26 credit hours earned and a 3.0 GPA after spring semester grades are complete.
  • The student must not be receiving another Baker College scholarship.
  • The student must register for fall semester by July 1.

Scholarship Amount
The scholarship will be awarded as follows:

  • Students attending 12 or more credit hours: $1,000 per semester.
  • Students attending 9-11 credit hours: $600 per semester.
  • Students attending 6-8 credit hours: $400 per semester.
  • Students attending 1-5 credit hours: $200 per semester

Deadline
The student must be registered for fall semester by July 1.

Scholarship Requirements
To receive the scholarship funds, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Students are encouraged to register full time in order to receive the maximum scholarship award amount.
  • The scholarship is not renewable; however, students who continue to meet the scholarship criteria can apply annually as long and the scholarship is available.
  • Students are encouraged to apply for financial aid; however, financial need is not a requirement to receive the scholarship.
  • Students receiving another Baker College scholarship will not qualify for this scholarship. Other scholarships include: Presidential, Regents, Career, Deans, Trustees Transfer, Adult Transfer, Transfer, Adult Education, Alternative Education, Autorama, BPA, Frederick Baker, Hoddy, Korn, Porter, ProStart, Phi Theta Kappa, etc. (exceptions may be made if the other scholarship is valued less than the BakerProud scholarship)
  • The scholarship amount is based on institutional charges. If the student is eligible for financial aid (or other funding resources), the other aid/resources must be used first; the balance of unused portion of the scholarship may be returned to the college.

Application
No application is required. Students who meet the eligibility criteria and who are registered by July 1st will be awarded the scholarship funds.

George W. Hoddy Scholarship
$1,500 non-renewable
Owosso Campus Only

Eligibility
Baker College will award twenty George W. Hoddy Scholarships to students based on the following criteria:

  • The student must have earned a minimum of 30 credit hours.
  • The student must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
  • The student must attend the Owosso campus.

Scholarship Amount
The scholarship will be awarded for $1500 per academic year (divided equally between the terms the student plans to attend).

Deadline
The scholarship application deadline is May 1st. The student must submit the following documents prior to the deadline to be considered for the scholarship:

  • Completed scholarship application.
  • A 200-250 word essay explaining how the George W. Hoddy Scholarship will help you achieve your academic goals.

Scholarship recipients will be announced in June.

Scholarship Requirements
To receive the scholarship funds, students must meet the following criteria:

  • The student must attend full-time to qualify for the scholarship.
  • The scholarship is not available during the summer.
  • Students are encouraged to apply for financial aid; however, financial need is not a requirement to receive the scholarship.
  • The scholarship amount is based on institutional charges. If the student is eligible for financial aid (or other funding resources), the other aid/resources must be used first; the balance of unused portion of the scholarship is returned to the college.
  • The scholarship will not cover classes outside the student’s program of study.
  • The scholarship is not renewable; however, students who continue to meet the scholarship criteria can apply annually as long and the scholarship is available.

Leadership Scholarship
$2,500 non-renewable

Eligibility
Baker College will select ten current students to receive the Leadership Scholarship. Students will be selected based on the following criteria:

  • The student must be attending an undergraduate campus.
  • Evidence of community leadership through one of the following avenues:.
    • Providing regular service or leadership to a community organization.
    • Working full-time while balancing family and school obligations.
  • Junior or senior grade level (a minimum of 60 earned semester credits) and pursuing a bachelor degree.
  • A minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA at the end of the fall semester.

Scholarship Amount
The scholarship will be awarded for $2,500 (typically during the fall semester).

  • Funds can be awarded during the summer if the student will not attend fall.
  • Funds can divided into fall and spring semester based on student request.

Deadline
The scholarship application deadline is May 1st. The student must submit the following documents prior to the deadline to be considered for the scholarship:

  • Completed scholarship application.
  • A 250-500 word essay explaining why the student should be selected for the scholarship based on their commitment to community service or commitment to work and family.
  • At least one letter of recommendation from the community organization or employer.

Scholarship recipients will be announced in June.

Auburn Hills Students Only

On the Move Scholarship

Eligibility
Baker College will award the OnTheMove Scholarship as a commitment to students who transition from the Auburn Hills campus to the new Royal Oak campus (or another BC campus) to complete their education.

  • The student must have attended the Auburn Hills campus during the 2021/2022 school year.
  • The student must transition to their new campus by Fall 2022 in order to complete their program (includes online courses).

Scholarship Amount
The scholarship will be awarded beginning Fall 2022 as follows:

  • Students attending 12 or more credit hours: $1,000 per semester.
  • Students attending 9-11 credit hours: $750 per semester.
  • Students attending 6-8 credit hours: $500 per semester.
  • Students attending 1-5 credit hours: $250 per semester.
  • Students in the Master of Occupational Therapy program will be awarded the full-time amount at 9 credit hours.

Application Process

Scholarship Renewal Requirements
Students will continue to receive the scholarship as long as they continue to meet the following criteria:

  • Maintain continuous enrollment (excluding summer).
  • Maintain good academic standing.
  • Summer registration is not required; however, funds will be awarded if the student attends during the summer semester.
  • Students are encouraged to apply for financial aid; however, financial need is not a requirement to receive the scholarship.
  • The scholarship will only apply to undergraduate and Master of Occupational Therapy courses.
  • Students who receive the BeMore Scholarship will be awarded the OnTheMove Scholarship in place of the BeMore Scholarship (students will not receive both awards).
Taylor/Graystone Scholarship
$1,000 non-renewable

Eligibility

Baker College will select two current students to receive the Taylor/Graystone Scholarship. One scholarship will be awarded to a student pursuing Business Administration and one scholarship will be awarded to a student pursuing Cybersecurity.  Students will be selected based on the following criteria:

  • The student must be attending an undergraduate campus.
  • Evidence of community leadership through one of the following avenues:
    • Providing regular service or leadership to a community organization.
    • Working full-time while balancing family and school obligations.
  • Junior or senior grade level (a minimum of 60 earned semester credits).
  • Enrolled in a bachelor degree in either Business Administration or Cybersecurity.
  • A minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA at the end of the fall semester.

Baker College will award the Graduate Studies Accelerated Scholarship to Bachelor Degree graduates who enroll into the Master of Business Administration (excluding Cloud Security/Risk Management), Master of Science in Educational Leadership, Master of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in I/O Psychology or Master of Science in Information Systems (excluding Cloud Security/Risk Management) programs who intend to accelerate graduation by attending a minimum of 12 credits per semester.

  • The student must have earned a Bachelor Degree with a minimum 2.5 cumulative.
  • GPA (based on a 4.0 GPA scale).

Scholarship Amount
The scholarship will be awarded at $3,360 per academic year ($1,680 per semester) until graduation.

Application & Deadline
The scholarship is awarded at time of acceptance into the college. No scholarship application is required. The deadline is 30 days prior to the start of the semester the student plans to enroll.

Scholarship Requirements
To receive the scholarship funds, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Register for a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester.
  • Student must maintain continuous enrollment. Students who do not attend 12 credits for one or more semesters will no longer qualify for the scholarship.
  • Summer registration is not required; however, funds will be awarded if students attend during the summer semester (students who attend less than full time during the summer semester will be awarded a prorated amount).
  • For renewal, students must continue to maintain good academic standing.
  • Students receiving the scholarship will not be awarded other institutional aid or scholarships.
  • The scholarship amount is based on institutional charges. If the student is eligible for financial aid (or other funding resources), the aid/resources must be used first; the balance of unused portion of the scholarship is returned to the college.
  • This scholarship is available for students who enroll in an eligible program during or after fall 2018.
Graduate Studies AdviseMI Scholarship
$3,000/semester ($9,000/yr. max.), until graduation

Eligibility
Through partnership with the Michigan College Access Network (MCAN), Baker College will award the AdviseMI Scholarship to students who are employed as advisors through the AdviseMI program.

To qualify for the scholarship, the student must enroll into the Master of Business Administration (excluding Cloud Security/Risk Management), Master of Science in Educational Leadership, Master of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in I/O Psychology or Master of Science in Information Systems (excluding Cloud Security/Risk Management) programs.

Scholarship Amount
The scholarship will be awarded as follows:

  • Full Time Enrollment: $3,000 per semester (up to $9,000 per year for students who attend summer) for students attending 9 or more credit hours.
  • Half Time Enrollment: $1,500 per semester (up to $4,500 per year for students who attend summer) for students attending 5-8 credit hours

The scholarship is renewable until graduation.

Deadline
The scholarship application must be completed 30 days prior to the start of the semester the student plans to enroll.

Scholarship Requirements

Baker College will award the Graduate Studies Alumni scholarship to Baker College Bachelor Degree graduates who enroll into the Master of Business Administration (excluding Cloud Security/Risk Management), Master of Science in Educational Leadership, Master of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in I/O Psychology or Master of Science in Information Systems (excluding Cloud Security/Risk Management) programs:

  • The student must have earned a Bachelor Degree at Baker College with a minimum 2.5 GPA.

Scholarship Amount
The scholarship will be awarded as follows:

Eligibility
The Baker College Graduate Studies MSOT Scholarship is a competitive scholarship that will be awarded to three students who meet the following criteria:

  • Acceptance into the Master of Science Occupational Therapy program
  • Cumulative G.P.A. of at least 3.5
  • Successful Essay Submissions

Scholarship Amount
The scholarship is awarded for $6,000 and is divided between fall and spring semesters. The scholarship is available for up to 2 years.

Deadline
The student must submit submit the following documents prior to May 1st for scholarship consideration:

  • Completed scholarship application.
  • Two essays, each with 250-300 words, about the following:
    • #1 - Describe an obstacle (personal, social or academic) that you have had to navigate in your life and explain how you successfully handled that hurdle. Relate that to how you hope to handle any obstacles while in graduate school, clinical fieldwork or in your career as an occupational therapist.
    • #2 - Describe why this financial scholarship is important to your occupational therapy education at Baker College, and how you hope to contribute to the profession of occupational therapy once you graduate and become an occupational therapist.

Scholarship Requirements
To receive the scholarship funds, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Register for a minimum of 9 credit hours per semester. Exceptions are allowed when required based on program restrictions. If exceptions are made, the scholarship award amount will be prorated based on the student’s enrollment status.
  • Student must maintain continuous enrollment.
  • Summer registration is not required; however, funds will be awarded if students attend at least half time during the summer semester.
  • For renewal, students must maintain a cumulative 3.5 GPA at the end of spring semester.
  • Students receiving the scholarship will not be awarded other institutional aid or scholarships.
