Part-Time Campus Safety Officer

Part Time

REPORTS TO:  Director of Campus Safety

 

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

  • Associate degree in criminal justice or at least three years’ experience in law enforcement required
  • M.C.O.L.E.S certified or certifiable, required
  • Must have current CPL permit
  • Must be CPR/AED/First Aid certified
  • Must have working knowledge of the Web, web-based email, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access and Excel)  
  • Must demonstrate and maintain proficiency with firearm
  • Must have current or previous law enforcement officer experience
  • PPCT defensive tactics a plus
  • Must pass a background check and drug testing
  • Must have willingness to travel for training purposes

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • General patrol of campus
  • Respond to call for services
  • Provide security to all campus and off-campus locations
  • Assist motorist
  • Investigate incidents/accidents and interview victims, witnesses and suspects involved in incidents
  • Write required reports
  • Enforce traffic regulations
  • Assist/advise visitors and members of the campus community
  • Act as desk officer when necessary
  • Assist municipal, county and state police agencies when appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Work Schedule

Up to 25 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Some evening and weekend hours will be required

 

Starting Date

 January, 2015

Compensation

Hourly rate based on education, experience, and existing wage rates for
