Get ready to move in a new direction.

Are you a certified secondary education teacher looking for new career challenge? We can help.

Our elementary and early childhood education level change program prepares you to start working with younger children.

This program gives you the chance to learn from elementary and early childhood educators who have years of experience working in the field. Through a combination of classroom learning and practical, hands-on fieldwork, you’ll be able to take what you learn and apply it directly in real-world environments.

Over the course of the program, you’ll complete our early childhood minor and our elementary studies minor, as well as a portion of our professional education core that focuses on working with elementary students.

After completing the program, you’ll be able to take the tests required to get the endorsements needed to teach all subjects in grades K-5, all subjects in self-contained classrooms for grades K-8, and all subjects in general and special education preschool classrooms. Having those extra endorsements in addition to your secondary teaching certification will give you the flexibility to take your career in any direction you like.

The curriculum at Baker absolutely helped me. I had great instructors, instructors who were educators. Just for teachers to connect with students, it was important to me for those instructors to connect with me.
