An enhanced subject focus with more teaching opportunities.

Having a secondary teaching certificate can create a lot of opportunities in your career, but being able to teach multiple subjects can help you go even further.

With this secondary teacher preparation bachelor degree program, you’ll get an education that prepares you to teach two different subjects. You’ll complete an English and mathematics major. In addition to the classes you’ll take for your two majors, you’ll also take several classes to help you learn the skills you’ll need to work as an educator.

As a graduate of this program, you’ll be able to take the test to qualify for your Michigan Provisional Secondary Teaching Certificate, allowing you to teach subjects in your majors in grades 6-12.

The curriculum at Baker absolutely helped me. I had great instructors, instructors who were educators. Just for teachers to connect with students, it was important to me for those instructors to connect with me.
