Baker College Notified of Cybersecurity Breach

Baker College has received an update from the NSC regarding the data breach. The compromised personal information varied by individual, but generally included names, contact information, and educational details such as enrollment, degree, and course-level data. However, the NSC confirmed no individuals associated with Baker College had their Social Security Number, Student ID Number, or Date of Birth included in the affected files. Affected students will be notified via email once Baker College identifies them.

Baker College has been informed by the National Security Clearinghouse (NSC) about a cybersecurity issue that has resulted in a breach of personal student data. This breach affects many institutions across the United States, with Baker College being one of them. The NSC has reported that an unauthorized third party gained access to certain files that were transferred through the MOVEit Transfer tool, a file transfer software product used by the NSC. All schools are required to provide data to NSC, and files may have contained sensitive student information belonging to any of those institutions.
