Nursing Camp: Healthcare Heroes
The goal of this nursing camp is for high school students with an interest in healthcare, including nursing, to engage with and learn from passionate healthcare professionals. The nurse camp will consist of meaningful and fun hands-on experiences and introduce students to the nursing profession. Baker College Faculty, nursing students, and community members will collaborate in an interactive, engaging two-day camp that immerses individuals in elements of the nursing profession.
Objectives
- Explore the Exciting World of Nursing: Engage in hands-on activities and simulations introducing participants to the diverse roles and responsibilities within the nursing profession, sparking curiosity and enthusiasm for healthcare. This includes obtaining American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification (CPR) during the camp.
- Unleash Your Inner Nurse Hero: Encourage participants to discover their potential as future healthcare heroes through fun challenges and teamwork exercises that simulate real-life nursing scenarios, fostering confidence and teamwork skills.
- Create Lasting Memories and Friendships: Engage in a supportive and inclusive environment where students can forge new friendships and create unforgettable memories through shared experiences, laughter, and bonding activities.
- Ignite Passion for Learning: Inspire a love for learning by offering interactive activities, guest speaker engagement, and hands-on demonstrations and activities that showcase the dynamic and rewarding nature of nursing, leaving students eager to explore more about the healthcare field.
