Science Camp: Science Discovery
The goal of this science summer camp is for high school students with an interest in science to engage with and learn from Baker College science program directors in the areas of biology, chemistry, physics, anatomy and physiology, and more! The science camp will consist of meaningful and fun hands-on experiences that will introduce students to science’s impact in the real world. Baker College faculty and program directors, students, and community members will collaborate in an interactive, engaging two-day camp that immerses individuals in elements of using and appreciating science in various ways.
Objectives
- Explore the Exciting World of Science: Engage in hands-on activities and real-world applications introducing participants to the use of science outside of the classroom, sparking curiosity and enthusiasm for various science professions/majors.
- Unleash Your Inner Science Brain: Encourage participants to discover their potential with science through fun challenges and teamwork exercises that simulate real-life scenarios, fostering confidence and teamwork skills.
- Create Lasting Memories and Friendships: Engage in a supportive and inclusive environment where students can forge new friendships and create unforgettable memories through shared experiences, laughter, and bonding activities.
- Ignite Passion for Learning: Inspire a love for learning by offering interactive activities, guest speaker engagement, and hands-on demonstrations and activities that showcase the dynamic and rewarding nature of science, leaving students eager to explore more about science and its impact on the world.
