Baker College of Cadillac hosted a free Health Science Simulation Open House on April 4, 2019. This event featured three different simulator training systems available for hands-on exploration.
The event was open to anyone interested in health science, including physicians, educators, current and prospective students, employers, administrators, and the general public.
Attendants had the opportunity to view and interact with:
The ALEX Patient Communication System (PCS) – an AI-age patient simulator that can see, listen and answer questions; a LAPSIM ST Laparoscopic Simulator – an immersive laparoscopic surgical training experience allowing users to simulate surgery; and Anatomage Virtual Dissection software – the only fully segmented, real human 3D anatomy system that allows users to visualize exact human and animal anatomy, as they would with a cadaver.
“Ultimately it’s about patient care. It gives the best patient care that they possibly can if they already adapted on how to do this,” said Cyndy Shupe, Program Director of Surgical Technology at Baker College in Cadillac
