Baker College of Cadillac Campus Director Randy Hill and Associate Professor and Faculty Liaison Coordinator Kate Dekam at the NACEP conference on November 7th.
Baker College of Cadillac Campus Director Randy Hill and Associate Professor and Faculty Liaison Coordinator Kate Dekam traveled to Minneapolis, MN, to present at the National Alliance for Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) conference on November 7 – 8, 2022.
NACEP is the leading national organization for accreditation, advocacy, engagement, and research regarding concurrent enrollment. Concurrent enrollment, such as the Running Start program offered by Baker College, refers to programs where high school students enroll in college courses while taking high school classes at the same time.
The NACEP conference brings concurrent/dual enrollment professionals from across the country to discuss best practices in bridging the gap between K-12 and higher education.
Hill, who currently sits on the NACEP board of directors as the four-year private postsecondary institutional representative and Dekam, who serves as an NACEP peer reviewer, presented a total of four times on themes ranging from Optimal Onboarding to The Liaison Learning Curve, Best Practices & Issues for Private Institutions, as well as fielded questions on a Faculty Engagement Panel.
“We were thrilled to be able to present the great work we are doing at Baker College with our Running Start program, and the reception from those in attendance was positive,” said Hill. “We look forward to continuing to connect with colleagues through NACEP to enhance our program and service to students.”
Baker College is currently only one of three institutions in the state of Michigan with NACEP accreditation and the only four-year institution.
