Culinary Institute of Michigan Shines at ACF Sanctioned Competition

Muskegon CIM faculty and students with their awards at the 2024 ACF Sanctioned Competition.

The Culinary Institute of Michigan (CIM), a Division of Baker College, Muskegon Campus, hosted a two-day culinary competition, attracting more than 90 competitors. Participants included professional chefs from Michigan, Texas, Georgia, Florida, Connecticut, and New York, as well as student competitors from Michigan, Illinois, and New York. Representing five colleges and one high school, schools included Schoolcraft College, the Culinary Institute of New York at Monroe College, Dorsey College, Kendall College, CIM Muskegon and Port Huron campuses, and Ypsilanti High School.

CIM students achieved remarkable success, earning 43 awards, including 12 Gold, 25 Silver, and 5 Bronze medals, plus one Diploma for honorable mention. Faculty members added to the accolades, taking home one Gold and two Silver medals.

Participants and judges commended CIM for its hospitality and seamless execution, reflecting the dedication of its faculty, staff, and solidifying its place as a leader in culinary competitions nationwide.
