Streamline Your Nursing Career Path
We’re proud to partner with Pine Rest Nursing Academy to offer students enrolled in Baker College’s Health Science and Nursing programs a paid mentorship opportunity that allows them to earn nursing certifications and gain specialized hands-on training. Accepted students commit to working at Pine Rest for the duration of nursing school and agree to serve as nurses at the institution for two years following their licensure by the State of Michigan.

Eligibility Requirements
Baker College students or Pine Rest employees must apply to Pine Rest Academy to be eligible for this partnership. For program eligibility details, please visit the Pine Rest website.
- Ensures employment post-graduation
- Provides a paid opportunity for students to gain on-the-job experience while pursuing their education
- Students must apply for student aid (Baker College code: 004673) using the FAFSA and complete the verification process
- Pine Rest benefits/support will cover any balances after financial aid including tuition, books, fees, and required supplies
Scholarship Amount
The maximum scholarship amount (up to $40,000) is set by the Pine Rest Academy.

Scholarship Requirements
- Academy participants need to work at Pine Rest post-graduation for 2 years as part of their agreement and tuition reimbursement requirements or students will be required to repay the tuition reimbursement to Pine Rest. 50% of the scholarship is forgiven after 1 year and 100% is repaid after two years
- The scholarship amount is calculated based on allowable charges. If the student is eligible for financial aid, the other aid must be used first. Baker College will invoice Pine Rest for the balance including the tuition, fees, books, and required supplies for all eligible students
- Students must successfully complete their coursework and maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress at Baker College to maintain eligibility for the scholarship
